Anstey’s Cove

Anstey’s Cove

Anstey’s Cove is the third of Torquay’s Blue Flag beaches, and although quite a hidden gem of a beach it has more character than some of the busier choices. You’ll find the cove between Babbacombe and Torquay, just enough off the beaten track to give you a feeling of discovering something a little special!

The beach is a great mix of shingle and rock, and as dogs are allowed it’s a better one for scenic walks and coastal strolls than for sunbathing.

Type – Shingle / Rock
Access – Moderate, but steep in places
Disabled – Moderate access.
Bus No – 32, 122 (Palace Hotel)
Facilities – Parking 1/4 mile from Ansteys Cove, dogs allowed, swimming, safe with care, warning flags in operation, life saving equipment, toilets near Ansteys Cove, cafe / refreshments, beach shop, deck chair / sun bed hire, chalet hire, public telephone.
